Restoring Mongolia's soil
with hydrogel
Super-absorbent polymer technology — cut irrigation by 50%, lift yields 20–70%, and bring tree-seedling survival to 99%.
Mongolia's land challenge
Desertification, water scarcity, and falling yields
The solution: soil hydrogel
A potassium-polyacrylate super-absorbent polymer (SAP)
How it works
- 1Mix the dry granules into the soil at planting
- 2They absorb water and turn into a gel — over 350× their dry weight
- 3When the soil dries out, they release 80%+ of that water back to the roots
- 4Active in the soil for 1–3 years, then biodegrade safely
Eco-friendly, biodegradable, non-toxic.
Where we work
Forestry, agriculture, and mine-site reclamation
Forestry / Billion Trees
Lift seedling survival to 80%+ in arid zones, cut planting irrigation in half.
Agrobay Forest
Crop farming
Higher yields and lower water use for cereals, vegetables, potato, and orchard crops.
Agrobay Crop
Mine reclamation
Re-vegetate slopes and tailings, hold moisture in disturbed soils, accelerate cover establishment.
Agrobay Forest
UNCCD COP17
Hosted in Ulaanbaatar, 17–28 August 2026
Agrobay will showcase Mongolia's hydrogel-based land restoration solution to the global community at COP17.
